It was a great pleasure to have been given the task of 'tinkering' with two 1938 cars prior to their 70th birthday party held at Chartwell in Kent (home of Winston Churchill).
One is a 4/4 4 seater, CWX, which has been in the same family since new. Indeed, five generations of Robinsons have ridden in this car and the current owner, Keith Robinson, now 81, is hoping his children will continue with this legacy.
The other, FGO, is a rare drophead coupé and is one of those cars that always seems to give challenges. Always starts, always drives to the destination - but never without some tale to tell at the end.
In all my years of maintaining Morgans never have I had the opportunity to work on, and road test, two cars of such vintage and character in the same week. Villagers were waving as if an old friend was passing through.
We wish both cars a very happy birthday and many more to come!
Keith, Brands Hatch Morgans
