Plus 8
Class B race/road car
History:
513 CTA is a 1986 Plus 8 that was bought 15 years ago as a 3.5 injected road car.
After a track day it had some safety equipment added and was then entered for the Morgan Challenge in which it has competed continuously since.
It is still used on the road between races.
Preparation:
It is prepared by Brett and now runs to Class B spec. It has a 3.9l John Eales engine, disk brakes front and rear, T5 gearbox, BTR axle, GRP wings, 16" alloy wheels.
It has the remarkable distinction of finishing every Morgan Challenge race entered in the last 13 years - bar two (once when an over-enthusiastic competitor knocked the exhaust tail pipe off its mounts and once when the throttle cable broke) - a testament to good preparation.
Results:
Winner of Morgan Challenge Class B in 2000 and 2001, it has also competed in the 750MC Roadsports series and many national and international sports car races.
Part of the winning 6 hour and 12 hour Birkett relay teams, and in the winning British Motor Heritage 4 hour relay team in 2009.
2009 overall champion of the Thoroughbreds Sports Car series.
